PSV are considering Gonzalo Montiel as a possible reinforcement at the back, according to reports International football and he Eindhovens Dagblad. The 27-year-old, just back from Seville, is also highly coveted by Nottingham Forest.
PSV urgently need a right back, now that Jordan Teze has left for AS Monaco. PSV reportedly received twelve million euros for this.
Last season, Montiel was loaned by Sevilla to Nottingham Forest, who are now in the market to buy the defender. Partly due to injuries, Montiel played nineteen games for Forest, in which he provided three assists.
According to Rik Elfrink it is ED it is far from certain that Montiel will become PSV’s new centre-back, but he is considered a real option. The South American is under contract to Seville for two more years.
Montiel is a 32-time international for Argentina. The right-back was a substitute against the Netherlands at the World Cup in Qatar (2-2) in the quarterfinals. Montiel then scored Argentina’s third penalty behind Dutch goalkeeper Andries Noppert. The Argentinians won the penalty shootout 3-4.
PSV asked about Kenny Tete before. The Fulham right-back, who has a history with Ajax, has so far been unavailable, but remains in the picture, writes VI.
