Jakarta –
PSSI submitted two consecutive away matches to the headquarters of Iraq and the Philippines in 2026 World Cup Qualification. AFC has granted this request.
In the original schedule, the Indonesian National Team was scheduled to visit Iraq’s headquarters and then host the Philippines. But PSSI asked that the match against the Philippines be played away first.
The match against Iraq will be held on November 16, five days later or on November 21 against the Philippines. PSSI’s request is related to the conflict in the agenda for the 2023 U-17 World Cup.

“Actually, it has been prepared from the start, yes, but maybe the media has only just heard about it. Actually, we have already had discussions with the coaching team,” said the Assistant Coach for the Indonesian National Team. Nova Arianto to reporters.
“After fighting Iraq we will appear in the Philippines. I think the players will have no problem because from Iraq we will go straight to the Philippines.
As is known, Indonesia will host the U-17 World Cup which will be held in four cities. The coincidence of these two agendas causes a breakdown in concentration if the senior national team still has to hold a home match.
“Yes, we will look at the next League 1 matches. We will not only look at one match, including the last week’s match,” said Nova.
“This will be monitoring by the coaching staff to determine which players will be called up against Iraq and the Philippines later,” he said.
