PSSI respond to rumors regarding the match Indonesian National team against Kenya and Burundi on the FIFA Matchday agenda.

After facing Curacao on the September 2022 FIFA Matchday, PSSI has yet to issue an official schedule for the Indonesian National Team for the March 2023 FIFA Matchday.

The issue of the Indonesian national team facing the two African countries has been growing in recent days.

Technical Director of the Indonesian National Team, Indra Sjafri, did not rule out the Garuda Squad’s match against Kenya and Burundi.

“Just wait, just wait. Yes, I hope,” said Indra in Jakarta, Wednesday (8/3).

“Yes, we’ll see later because international relations is indeed the one taking care of it,” said Indra.

Compared to Curacao which is ranked 86th in the world, Kenya and Burundi are outside the world 100 zone. Kenya is currently ranked 101st and Burundi 141st.

“As I said yesterday, me and coach Shin [Tae Yong] it only determines the criteria for potential opponents for the FIFA Matchday from January until before the FIFA Matchday, we will tell you the month, criteria and so on. That’s all our technical work there.”

“Then how do you get the country willing, the candidates are willing, right, PSSI is there [departemen] international relations that communicate,” said Indra.

The man who has just been appointed as the coach of the U-22 Indonesian National Team for the 2023 SEA Games explained that the Red and White team will host the test match match which is on the FIFA Matchday agenda.

“If I’m not mistaken in the direction of the Ketum, if we can play in the country because our community’s spectators need entertainment,” explained Indra.
