PSSI holds the Exco Meeting after the announcement of the TGIPF

PSSI immediately held an Executive Committee (Exco) meeting following the announcement of the Joint Independent Fact Finding Team (TGIPF). This meeting is to address the attitude of the federation.

The TGIPF completed its tasks on Friday (10/14/2022) after several days of investigating and listening to the parties’ statements related to the Kanjuruhan tragedy. There are at least nine recommendations and some conclusions to be drawn PSSI, PT Liga Indonesia Baru, the Organizing Committee (Panpel), security officers, security forces and supporters.

Of the nine recommendations, one asked PSSI general president Mochamad Iriawan and all Exco members. This condition is clearly a shock to the PSSI, especially since there is a recommendation to hold an Extraordinary Congress (KLB) to replace the leadership of the federation.

Meanwhile, PSSI Deputy Secretary General Maaike Ira Puspita appeared in the next experiment. He promised that his party would immediately issue a statement regarding the TGIPF announcement.

“I’m sorry, please give us the opportunity to hold a meeting first to be able to adequately respond to this situation,” said Maaike when met by reporters on the 6th floor of the GBK Arena, which is the office of the federation.

“Conditions are currently not favorable, give us time first. Later there will be time for us to provide information, please wait downstairs first,” he said.

TGIPF is a team specially formed by the government in order to investigate the occurrence of Kanjuruhan tragedy. The government has called for an assessment of the overall system of organization of Indonesian football because 132 people have died in the supporters’ camp of Arema FC, Aremania.

Given the large number of casualties and injuries, the government has temporarily suspended football activities. The presence of the TGIPF is actually a form of government intervention, but it has received the blessing of FIFA.

Therefore, the government intervention this time will not lead to sanctions by FIFA. In addition to TGIPF, PSSI also collaborates with FIFA-AFC to improve Indonesian football in a better direction.
