PSSI Denies Claims that the Indonesian National Team Invites Bolivia to Trial

Jakarta

PSSI denied the claims of the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF) which claimed to have received an invitation to test with Indonesian National team. PSSI never invited Bolivia to compete.

Previously, FBF, through a release on their website, said that it was considering an invitation to test against Indonesian National team. He said, the Indonesian National Team was willing to face it Bolivia at the end of March.

Bolivia is considering it because they coincidentally canceled their two World Cup Qualifying matches in 2022. The first is against Peru on March 25 and Uruguay on March 30.

But, PSSI refuted the claims from FBF. There was never any intention or proposed a trial against Bolivia.

“Hoax, there is no information and letter. Cook for FIFA Match Day March,” said PSSI Acting Secretary General Yunus Nusi to detikSport.

Not entering the FIFA calendar is the reason PSSI denied the FBF claim. Yunus Nusi explained, official trial matches can only be held at the international break or FIFA Match Day.

“Medio FIFA Match Day is not possible, it should be the end of March on March 18-26,” he explained.

Meanwhile on FIFA’s website, the March 2021 international break falls on March 22-30. So, FBF’s claim actually makes sense because the plan for the Indonesian national team match against Bolivia will be held at the end of March, which means that it is during the international break.

Bolivia is not the first country that is rumored to be competing with Indonesian National team. Previously there was also news that Ivory Coast and Argentina would be the trial opponents for the Indonesian national team.
