PSOE and Cs admit that it will be “complicated” to approve the motion and deny negotiations with those expelled from Vox | Radio Murcia

The regional directorates of PSOE and Citizens have recognized that it will be “complicated” to carry out the motion of censure to unseat the PP from the Murcian Executive, and they have appealed to the 45 deputies to ponder their vote because it is a matter of deciding between “corruption or dignity “.

This was announced this Tuesday afternoon by the deputy secretary general and spokesman of the PSRM-PSOE, Francisco Lucas, and the spokesman of the Parliamentary Group of Citizens, Juan José Molina, at a press conference held at the headquarters of the Socialist Party before the second and last meeting of the negotiating teams of both political formations.

Molina explained that the objective of this meeting is to finalize the government program that will accompany the motion, which includes 24 points – symbolizing the remaining 24 months of the legislature – in which actions aimed at fighting the pandemic, reaching economic recovery and regeneration and provide institutions with greater transparency.

The document that collects these points will be signed in an act this Wednesday, before the debate in the regional Assembly, by the secretary general of the PSRM-PSOE, Diego Conesa, and the regional spokesperson for Citizens in the Region of Murcia, Ana Martínez Vidal.

According to Molina, the motion of censure presented, and whose vote will take place this Thursday, “is not only an attempt to change the Government,” but also “a change of cycle to end political practices that are absolutely unethical.”

“We are risking the quality of our democracy, and the 45 deputies will have to choose between voting for dignity or voting for transgression; voting, ultimately, political corruption,” said the parliamentary spokesman for the ‘orange’ formation.

In his opinion, “if the PP has been able to find among the 45 deputies three people without dignity, without principles and without scruples,” the signatories of the initiative “believe that on Thursday among those deputies we will also find people with dignity who will know how to be at the height of the circumstances and that he will vote in favor of this motion of censure “.

For his part, Francisco Lucas has insisted that in recent days “the need to regenerate the Autonomous Community” has been revealed and, in this sense, the motion responds to the fight for “a region clean of defectors and corruption. “.

“Isabel Franco, Valle Miguélez and Francisco Álvarez have proudly walked these days of having sold themselves to corruption and in the PP they are proud to buy three votes; this is corruption and transfuguismo, it cannot be called otherwise,” he said. the socialist leader.

Lucas has pointed out that “you cannot make the mistake” of “normalizing or whitewashing this type of behavior” because by doing so, in his opinion, “we would be putting into play the institutions, the rules of the game and, why not say it, the democracy”.

Therefore, he added, “we continue to work seriously, go ahead with this motion of censure, because it is necessary to restore dignity.” Thus, “the 45 regional deputies must be clear” that what is being voted on Thursday “is not ideology, it is not voting for the right or the left”, but “voting if one is in favor of corruption or regeneration.”

They reject negotiations with those expelled from Vox

Both Molina and Lucas have rejected that they have tried to negotiate with the Vox deputies to move forward with the motion. “No, absolutely not,” said the representative of Cs, who recalled that “three or four days ago” the party did hold telephone conversations “simply to test what position it had, which was very ambiguous, and they have continued to maintain it. to this day that I know of. “

On the part of the PSOE, Lucas has asserted that his party “has not negotiated or will not negotiate with Vox”, while he has appealed to the Chamber and remarked that “the deputy who votes against the motion will be an accomplice of corruption and the breakdown of institutions in the Region of Murcia “.

Molina has indicated that, in the current political context and after the change of opinion of three parliamentarians from Ciudadanos who signed the motion, “we must be realistic” with respect to the final situation of this initiative.

“It is very complicated and we believe that those three Vox deputies have a difficult time voting for a government in which there is a Socialist Party, but we are going to continue fighting; we hope that, in the end, as I said, just as there are three people who do not have nor scruples, nor dignity and they have been sold, as there may be one, two, three or more that have height in these circumstances and support this motion of censure, “he added.

Therefore, he stressed, “it is very difficult but it is not impossible.”

Regarding the position of the president of the Assembly, Alberto Castillo, member of Ciudadanos, Molina has indicated that he signed the motion and, “therefore, I understand that what he has signed is what he will vote in the debate.”

“I don’t have to think that anything else is going to vote. I trust that Alberto will be faithful to his signature and to his word and to what he said in that meeting in which he agreed with all his colleagues, therefore I hope that he will vote yes” .

Precisely in relation to that meeting, the leader of Cs has assured that it is “flatly false” that there were coercion to sign the initiative. “It was said that either it was signed by all, I speak of councilors and deputies, or nothing was done”, and finally “all of us, freely, of course, decided to support it,” Molina added.
