PSM excels Persija in the first round

PSM Makassar outperform Persija Jakarta 1-0 in the first half of Group B action Menpora Cup 2021. Is Patrich Wanggai who successfully broke into the Kemayoran Tigers’ goal.

Playing at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, Monday (22/3/2021), PSM put pressure on the 12th minute. Muhammad Arfan fired a long-range shot, but still bounced over Persija’s goal.

Persija only threatened to respond in the 20th minute. Marco Motta released a mature cross to Marko Simic in the PSM penalty box, but the Croatian striker failed to reach it. Osvaldo Haay then comes on and grabs the ball, but the result is not yet on target.

PSM almost took the lead in the 26th minute. Rizky Eka fired a shot at Persija’s goal, but Andritany was more alert and managed to ward off the ball.

PSM threatened again given to Persija. Juku Eja was more daring to shoot long-range shots, as did Abdul Rachman in the 34th minute, but his accuracy was still far from the target.

GOAL! PSM finally took the lead in the first half injury time. Receiving a bait from Yakob Sayuri, Patrich Wanggai controlled the ball in front of the penalty box and then fired a low shot that lodged in the left corner of Andritany’s goal. 1-0 score lasted until halftime.
