PSIS Semarang CEO Confirms Wahyu Prasetyo’s Call-Up to Indonesian National Team for 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

PSIS Semarang CEO Yoyok Sukawi confirmed that Wahyu Prasetyo would be released to Indonesian National team for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

Hulk, as Wahyu is known, is scheduled to join the Indonesian national team after the match against Persita Tangerang. This match will take place on Thursday (9/11).

As the only PSIS player called to defend the Garuda squad, Yoyok hopes that Wahyu will not waste this summons. Wahyu was asked to prove his quality.

“Goodbye, Hulk [sapaan akrab Wahyu Prasetyo] for the umpteenth call to the National Team,” said Yoyok, quoted from the official PSIS website on Saturday (4/11) afternoon.

“Take as much knowledge as possible and show that Hulk is worthy of appearing. And hopefully the national team can get positive results in the two World Cup qualifying matches,” he said.

PSIS coach Gilbert Agius said he was proud that one of his players was called up to the National Team. Aguis is confident that Wahyu will be able to prove himself worthy of defending Indonesia.

“The highest peak of pride is when defending the country. Continue to process and improvise because Hulk really deserves to be called up to the national team,” said Gilbert.

The Indonesian national team will play two matches during the international calendar for the November period. First against Iraq (16/11) and second against the Philippines (21/11).

This match both took place at the opponent’s headquarters. The Indonesian National Team squad is planned to leave for Basra, Iraq on Friday (10/11).
