PSIM Yogyakarta and Dewa United Advance to League 2 Semifinals

Martapura Dewa United and PSIM Yogyakarta made it to the semifinals League 2 this season, after each of them won their last game in Group Y dramatically.

On the third matchday of the second round which took place on Thursday (12/23/2021) night WIB, PSIM challenged North Sulawesi United at Wibawa Mukti Stadium, Bekasi Regency. While the United Gods met PSMS Medan at Pakansari Stadium, Bogor Regency.

PSIM, who needed three points to qualify for the top four, finally came out victorious with a score of 1-0. Laskar Mataram’s single goal was scored by Syarif Wijianto’s header in the 76th minute.

This result makes PSIM move up to second place in Group Y final standings with 5 points, two draws and one win. Meanwhile, North Sulawesi United had to settle for third place with 3 points, with one win and two defeats.

At the same time, Dewa United, who only needed a draw to qualify for the semifinals, also managed to win 1-0 over PSMS. The only goal in that match was created by Dwi Raffi Angga in the 89th minute.

Dewa United also has the right to qualify for the semifinals with the status of group Y winners, collecting 7 points. PSMS occupies the caretaker position with only 1 point.

Thus, four teams have qualified for the semifinals of League 2 this season. PSIM will challenge RANS Cilegon FC who is the winner of Group X, while Dewa United will face Just Solo.
