Chairman of PSI Kaesang Parangep challenged the former Chairman KPK Agus Rahardjo to prove President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) alleged intervention in the e-KTP case.

Kaesang asked Agus Rahardjo to show evidence that Jokowi had intervened behind the investigation into the case involving Setya Novanto.

“Give me the proof, okay? Just like that. Kok “It’s really troublesome,” said Kaesang in Surabaya, Saturday (2/12).

Agus Rahardjo is Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission for the 2015-2019 period. Under his leadership at that time, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) investigated a major e-KTP case involving DPR Speaker Setya Novanto (Setnov).

Agus’ confession was conveyed in an interview on the Rosi program, Compass TV, Thursday (30/11). Setnov’s legal status as a suspect was officially announced by the KPK on Friday, November 10 2017.

In the interview, Agus said that President Jokowi asked himself to stop the investigation into the case in 2017.

“There, as soon as I entered, the President was angry, wanting, because as soon as I entered he shouted ‘stop’. Able to, I wonder what stopped it. “After I sat down, I found out that the person who ordered it to be stopped was Mr. Setnov’s case, the chairman of the DPR at that time had an e-KTP case so that it would not be continued,” said Agus.

At that time, Agus did not stop the e-KTP corruption case because his agency did not have that authority. Agus believes that, after the Corruption Eradication Commission continues to investigate the case, this will have an impact on the revision of the Corruption Eradication Committee Law in 2019.

In the revision of the Corruption Eradication Commission Law, a number of important provisions were changed. Among other things, the Corruption Eradication Commission is now under executive power and can issue SP3 or case termination.
