PSI Anies Made Up Figures with Calling Ancol Reclamation for Land Dumps Results of River Dredging Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – DKI Jakarta Legislative Council Budget Member (Banggar) Viani Limardi criticized the policy reclamation expansion area Ancol and Dunia Fantasi (Dufan) in North Jakarta covering an area of 155 hectares.

DKI Governor Anies Baswedan has given permission for the reclamation project. Anies said, the reclamation of the Ancol area expansion aims to accommodate the dredged land and river reservoir in Jakarta.

Viani rate, Anies’s statement was far-fetched because of plans Ancol reclamation East covering an area of 120 hectares has been in the annual report of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol in 2009 and 2010.

In the 2010 PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol annual report mentioned in 2011, the company will continue to develop reclamation projects in East Ancol covering an area of 120 hectares, out of a total reclamation right of 350 hectares.

“This reclamation project is a business decision that has been planned for a long time by Ancol, not due to the dredging of rivers and reservoirs. The report states that the reclamation land will be developed into a recreation, resort, business and residential center,” Viani said in a written statement , Tuesday (07/14/2020).

According to Viani, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has never submitted a study related to the Ancol expansion reclamation in meetings with the DPRD.

“The study is still a mystery. If the study really exists, it should be immediately opened to the public so there is no polemic,” said Viani.

Earlier it was reported, Anies Baswedan had issued a reclamation permit for the expansion of the Ancol Dreamland Park and Dunia Fantasi. The permit is stated in the Governor’s Decree (Kepgub) No. 237 of 2020.

Anies signed the Kepgub on February 24, 2020.

“Give permission for the implementation of the expansion of Dunia Fantasi (Dufan) recreational area of approximately 35 hectares and Taman Impian Timur Recreation area of approximately 120 hectares,” wrote Anies in the Kepgub.

The Kepgub also said that the implementation of the expansion of the area was limited to the construction of retaining embankments, material losses, and the maturation of the land resulting from the expansion.

Development on area expansion lands must refer to the Master Plan Spatial Plan and the Urban Design Guidelines (UDGL) as well as statutory provisions.

“The results of the implementation of the area expansion as referred to in the dictum must be certified by Land Management Rights (HPL) on behalf of the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta and become a cost burden for PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, Tbk,” the Kepgub wrote.

The plan for reclamation was criticized by the People’s Coalition for Fisheries Justice (Kiara) and a number of DKI DPRD Members. Kiara for example said, Anies betrayed his campaign promises during the 2017 DKI Election. During the campaign, Anies promised to stop the reclamation project in the Jakarta Bay if he was elected as Jakarta’s governor.

Because a lot of criticism, Anies finally opened his voice. Anies claimed that what was being done in the Ancol area was different from the reclamation of 17 islands that had previously been carried out.

“What is happening in the Ancol area is different from the reclamation that Alhamdulillah we have stopped and became our promise during the campaign period,” Anies said, last Saturday.

According to Anies, Jakarta is an area that is always threatened by flooding because there are approximately 30 reservoirs and 13 rivers that have siltation or sedimentation.

“There are more than 30 reservoirs and naturally undergoing sedimentation. That’s why then the reservoirs are dredged continuously and the dredged mud is blown away? The mud is then placed in the Ancol area,” he said.

Anies claimed that the reclamation process carried out was to protect Jakarta residents from floods.
