Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico has been hospitalized after being involved in an accident with a horse. There are different scenarios circulating in the Spanish media.
According to PSG, his condition is ‘serious, but stable’. The Spanish Press Agency EFE knows that Rico fell off a horse in the village of El Rocío and suffered unknown head injuries in the process. The newspaper AS has a different reading. People close to the player insist that the goalkeeper was in El Rocio and was hit in the neck by a runaway horse, which caused the trauma.
The reserve goalkeeper of the French champion has been transferred to the emergency room of a hospital in Seville. According to the latter source, he is being admitted there pending the relevant tests by the medical staff. Sevilla, Rico’s former employer, posted a message on Twitter and wished Rico the best of luck.
Lots of strength and speedy recovery, @sergiorico25.

Rico left Seville in 2019 for a new adventure in the Premier League with Fulham. A year later he left for PSG, where he is Gianluigi Donnarumma’s stand-in this season. He was still on the bench on Saturday in the Ligue 1 duel with Strasbourg (1-1). Rico’s contract will continue for one year after the current season.
