Without injured stars Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, Paris Saint-Germain have temporarily extended their lead in France’s first Ligue 1. PSG defeated promoted FC Toulouse at home on Saturday thanks to remarkable goals from Achraf Hakimi (37th) and Lionel Messi (57th) 2-1 (1-1). Branco van den Boomen (19) put Toulouse ahead with a free kick.
However, injury concerns worsened for FC Bayern Munich’s opponents in the round of 16 in the Champions League, as Renato Sanches was injured and replaced in the 14th minute. PSG coach Christophe Galtier has already been without Mbappe (left thigh muscle injury), Neymar (adductor pain) and defender Sergio Ramos (adductor tightness).
In Ligue 1, PSG are eight and nine points ahead of Sunday’s games against pursuers Olympique Marseille (against OGC Nice) and RC Lens with ÖFB team defender Kevin Danso (at Stade Brest).
