The four PSG ultras arrested on February 1, 2022 for stealing a tarpaulin belonging to Roazhon Celtic Kop (RCK), a group of ultras from Stade Rennais, were sentenced on Wednesday December 21 to a fine of 600 euros, indicates AFP. One of them will have to pay four euros a day for 150 days, two will have to pay the amount immediately and the last one has only received a suspended fine. They were found guilty of “meeting theft” by the Rennes court.
Originellement, ils avaient été mis en examen pour « vol avec violence », après que le groupe de supporters rennais avait dénoncé un « guet-apens qui porte directement atteinte à la sécurité de la famille » du member of the RCK qui détenait la bâche dans sa car. They were asked for imprisonment from eight to twelve months or a conditional sentence. But the court did not consider the facts of violence and “returned the file to its normal size”, as welcomed by the lawyer of one of the defendants, Me Olivier Pacheu. “It’s not a matter of hooliganism,” he said.
In February, PSG broke away from these Ultras, considering them “hooligans, followers of violence”. The four men, aged between 30 and 40, were suspected of belonging to Karsud, a group created in 1993 around PSG. This group hasn’t been to matches since 2017-18, and is “only dedicated to street fights and theft of equipment,” according to the judge. The accused all denied belonging to this group and spoke of “a joke gone wrong”, acknowledging the theft, “but without violence”.
