PSG Fan Stabbed in Milan: Update and Milan’s Response

A Paris St. Germain supporter was stabbed before the French football champions’ Champions League game at AC Milan. As the Italian police announced, the person was “seriously injured by two stab wounds to the leg” by masked attackers in Milan on Monday evening and was then taken to a hospital.

The newspaper Corriere della Sera reported that the injured party was a 34-year-old man whose life was not believed to be in danger. Witnesses told the police that around 50 Milanese and French people met in the Navigli district of the northern Italian metropolis during the knife attack.

Just less than two months ago, a British supporter of Newcastle United was also stabbed in the same district before a premier league away game in Milan.

Bottom side Milan will host the Parisian star ensemble on Tuesday (9 p.m./DAZN) in Group F, in which Borussia Dortmund is also fighting to progress. The German runner-up will be in Milan on November 28th as part of the fifth matchday.

In response to the incident, security measures were tightened in Milan on Tuesday. Milan condemned on X (formerly Twitter) “any form of violence. For us, football is passion and not hate. Sport unites people and does not divide them,” says the club.
