Trainer Paris Saint Germain, Mauricio Pochettinousing Juventus and Manchester City as examples of clubs that cannot win the Champions League.
PSG have failed to say much in the Champions League this season after being sacked by Real Madrid in the last 16. This failure is certainly very painful considering that PSG has brought in many experienced players.
However, in defending himself from criticism, Pochettino pointed to another club in the same position. There are Juventus who haven’t won since 1996 and Man City who have spent a lot of money.
“So far, PSG have reached the semifinals and final of the Champions League, so it’s part of a process that takes time,” Pochettino said as quoted by Football Italia.
“There are also clubs like Juventus and Manchester City who want to win the Champions League, but they can’t achieve what they are trying to achieve.”
Pochettino’s future at PSG is under speculation after failing in the Champions League. The club reportedly wants to end the partnership at the end of the season and no top names have been candidates.
PSG still have to fight in Ligue 1. Lionel Messi et al. currently at the top of the standings with 65 points, 12 points ahead of second-placed Rennes.
