PSG completely raked in Monaco – VG

There were ok not many who left Monaco great chances when Kylian Mbappé scored both one and two during the first 45 against the club he broke through in. The first was of the beautiful kind, where the express train put on the turbo, parked the Monaco defense and placed the ball perfectly up in the longest cross.

Scoring number two came from the penalty spot. PSG had thus taken a recipe-leading 2-0 lead, and also had two goals canceled out by VAR.

After the break, it was Monaco and their striker, German Kevin Volland, who stole the show. He did just as Mbappé and scored two.

PSG replaced Neymar, but to no avail. Monaco were punished on the back, and PSG stopper Abdou Diallo was shown the red card.

Veteran Cesc Fabregas advanced – who, like Neymar, started the match on the bench. The Spaniard, who has now reached the age of 33, put the penalty safely in goal, and ensured a somewhat incredible turnaround operation for Monaco, who are now four points behind league leader PSG in the table.

This is the first match since February PSG have conceded two goals or more in a Ligue 1 match. Last time it happened, they beat Bordeaux 4-3 at home.

This was PSG’s third league loss of the season.
