Lionel Messi will be back in the starting XI after his short-term suspension at Paris Saint-Germain. This was announced by coach Christophe Galtier during a press conference on Friday. Messi is very motivated and determined to win another league title, said the PSG coach ahead of the French soccer champions and leaders’ match against relegation-threatened AJ Ajaccio at the Prinzenpark Stadium this Saturday. Messi is said to have made a corresponding impression in training.
At least the seven-time world footballer does not have to fear whistles from the ultras after their displeasure was directed primarily against the Argentine world champion. They have announced that they will boycott the club’s remaining home games.
Messi was suspended at Paris Saint-Germain
Messi was suspended by PSG after a short trip with his family as a tourism ambassador to Saudi Arabia. He was not allowed to train with the team, his wages for the time were withheld – the trip had not been announced. Coach Galtier was not involved in the decision. Messi then apologized publicly in a short video, and the club lifted the suspension after around five days. “We welcomed him with joy,” said Galtier.

However, it remains unclear how Messi will continue after this season. Messi’s father and manager Jorge recently denied a report of a move to Saudi Arabia in a written statement.
Messi’s contract with PSG ends on June 30 after two years. In addition to a possible move to Major League Soccer in Miami, there is speculation above all about a return to FC Barcelona. The heavily indebted Catalans, whom he tearfully left in the summer of 2021, have already confirmed an interest and are working on a financing plan. Some of the salaries have to be reduced and players have to be given up.
