Ex-Bayern star James Rodriguez changes to Qatari first division club Al-Rayyan. The 30-year-old should only be able to leave the club for Paris St. Germain without any problems.
James Rodriguez was active for Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and most recently in Everton. At the age of 30 he is actually in the prime of his career, but the Colombian chooses to move to Qatar. He signed a three-year contract with first division club Al-Rayyan. According to “AS”, he is said to have secured a curious exit clause in his new working paper.
Accordingly, Rodriguez is allowed to dissolve the contract independently if Paris St. Germain shows interest in him. Playing together with Messi, Neymar and Co. is probably a big dream of the midfielder.
In view of James’ achievements in recent years, however, an offer from Paris would come as a surprise. At Everton, he recently failed to meet expectations. The top scorer of the 2014 World Cup finals left the “Toffees” until 2023 despite a valid contract.
