PSG: a real interest of Juventus for Mauro Icardi?

This Friday morning, it is all the Italian sports press that is doing it. La Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport have expressed the same interest of Juventus Turin for Mauro Icardi. The transalpine club has been tracking the PSG striker for several months but the possible departure of the Spaniard Alvaro Morata this winter could speed things up. According to Italian newspapers, Juve would only let Morata go to FC Barcelona if they find their replacement, who could therefore be Icardi.

For now, the Argentinian, transferred definitively in the summer of 2020 for 50 million euros, is expected Sunday, January 2 at the Camp des Loges for the resumption of training. PSG, in search of liquidity, are open to a transfer of the scorer, which represents the greatest market value among the “transferable” players. Valued at 30 million euros by specialized sites, Icardi will not leave for less in the event of a transfer this winter.

As in the case of Abdou Diallo with AC Milan, PSG would favor a transfer rather than a loan. Especially since the club of the capital would find itself without a replacement at the position of number 9 behind the holder Kylian Mbappé. Icardi, with 16 goals in all competitions, remains the squad’s second-highest scorer over the calendar year. An alternative would be essential for coach Mauricio Pochettino.

Moreover, Juve would also follow the trail leading to another known PSG player: Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan, who left Paris to make way for… Icardi, wants to leave Manchester United this winter in order to regain playing time.
