Formoso warns that the “cuts” in public education “at the hands of Rueda” leave Galicia “without a future”
The general secretary of the PSdeG, Valentín González Formoso, has criticized the “carousel of royalties” that he attributes to the Executive led by Alfonso Rueda, whom he has disfigured for preferring to “give away tracksuits or a tourist voucher to everyone” rather than recovering free the textbooks.
Likewise, Formoso has criticized the “cuts” in public education “at the hands of Rueda”, convinced that they lead to a Galicia “without a future.”
This was conveyed before participating in the ‘II Xuntanza Provincial do Socialismo Ourensano’, in which the provincial secretary, Rafael Rodríguez Villarino, also participated, and in which tribute was paid to the historic activist Carmen Rodríguez Nóvoa.
The Socialist leader attended the Ourense meeting after the Oroso pilgrimage last weekend, in which the acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, participated, and which shows, he said, that the party “is activated, excited, with critical spirit and supervisory spirit” of the Galician Government.
“UNIVERSAL ROYALTY PERIOD”
In this sense, he has criticized Rueda’s management, whom he sees immersed “in a period of universal royalties” in which “he prefers to give away tracksuits and tourist vouchers to everyone” after “calling into question” the free model of textbooks, launched by the previous coalition government between BNG and PSdeG, chaired by the socialist Emilio Pérez Touriño.
“A model that invested 17 million each year – 71 million euros every four years of validity of the manuals – relieved the cost of 700 euros per student for families,” the socialists emphasize.
“But the current President of the , also critical of the tourist bonus.
Thus, he has insisted that Rueda “questions” public services such as education and health, appealing to protect them.
Next, he participated in the ‘Con-Memora’ event, organized by the provincial group of the PSdeG of Ourense, in which they paid tribute to the more than 100-year-old activist Carmen Rodríguez Nóvoa.
