There have been shortages since the release of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in particular are invariably sold out in no time with every new delivery. This includes AMD, which supplies components for both consoles and also faces very high demand. The CEO of the company, Lisa Su, now has indicated that they are struggling to meet demand, with the result that shortages will certainly persist until the second half of 2021.
AMD expects to be able to ramp up production by the second half of 2021, enabling them to meet demand better and faster. As a result, it will remain very difficult to get a PlayStation 5 in the coming months.
