This appears to be an entry on the support page of the PlayStation 5. The HD Camera for the PlayStation 4 was mainly used for PSVR, but that’s not the case for the PS5 HD Camera. This camera does not support PlayStation VR glasses.
The text on the support page states that the PS5 HD Camera is primarily intended for recording and streaming while gaming. If you still want to get started with the PSVR headset, you will have to get started with the PS4 camera. This still works on the PlayStation 5, but not just like that. Sony has provided a free adapter to connect the PS4 camera to the next-gen console. It is not yet known whether this adapter will be included with the console
PS5 HD Camera may still be used for VR later
Although the PS5 HD Camera cannot be used for PS VR at the moment, that can change later. Sony is reportedly working on a new version of the VR glasses and it may also just be that an update is coming, so that the camera is still usable. It is not yet known about both if and when they should be released.
