For a long time, the PlayStation 5 has been very popular, but at the same time almost unavailable. Fortunately, that changed at the beginning of this year, because web shops and stores now have a warehouse full of PS5 consoles ready. And in July, the PlayStation 5 was also sold at a large discount.
Such a price reduction is now coming to Europe again. From August 25 to September 7, the price will drop by no less than 100 euros in the PlayStation Direct Store and other stores. This is evident from promotional material VGC.
It is only unclear whether the price reduction will also come to the Netherlands. Currently, the promotion has only been announced for Spain and Portugal, but the earlier promotion applied to almost all of Europe.
Why is there another price cut?
That there will be a new promotion for the PlayStation 5 so soon is quite striking. It was possible to score the console with a discount for almost the entire month of July. There are speculations that Sony wants to quickly get rid of current stock of the PS5, before the launch of a new version with a removable disc drive later this year.
Microsoft also expects Sony to release a new PlayStation 5 sometime this year. This is evident from documents published in the lawsuit between Microsoft and the FTC.
