Since the PlayStation 5 is now in the hands of various media and pictures of the box were allowed to be shared, new details keep coming in. The box is of course nice to look at, but it doesn’t say much in general. Yet there appears to be an interesting message at the bottom of the box.
The listing focuses on the partnership with the PlayStation 4, indicating that it is possible to transfer data from the older console to the new one in various ways.
- You can connect the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 to the same network to transfer data that way.
- You can connect your external hard drive from the PlayStation 4 to the PlayStation 5.
- If you log in to the PS5 with your existing PS4 PSN account, you will automatically retrieve all information about your profile and Trophies, as well as your personal history.
The latter is somewhat self-evident, given that the vast majority of gamers will undoubtedly log in with his or her existing account. Now the transfer of data was already confirmed, but it is interesting to see that you can also do this with an external drive.
What can also be concluded from this is that Sony is doing everything in its power to make the transition between both platforms as smooth as possible.
