PS Store no longer thanks users with free “purchases” from Sony

Company Sony stopped sending “thank you for your purchase” receipts to users’ emails when downloading free content from a digital store PS Store.

The PlayStarion Lifestyle portal and a number of Reddit forum users noticed that after receiving the April selection PS Plus they did not receive a check in the mail, as happened earlier when activating other games from the subscription service.

It is not yet clear whether Sony has officially stopped sending receipts for free games and DLC, or whether this happened by mistake, but, as GamesRadar confirms, now there really are no more notifications for “purchasing” such content in the mail.

The publication also notes that it has always seemed a little strange that Sony is sending out checks for free transactions in the store, but in theory such receipts can serve as useful evidence in case of any problems with the downloaded product, for example, if it is lost from the account.
