It will soon be time again: Over the coming week, the PlayStation Plus games for July 2020 will be unveiled. Not only is the new line-up coming up, but also the birthday of the paid online service.
When is the PS Plus birthday? The service was launched on June 29, 2010. So next Monday he is already celebrating his tenth anniversary. And as is customary for anniversaries, we might be able to expect a few surprises. Of course, we can only speculate here.
What the PS Plus birthday could mean for subscribers
In the PS Plus subreddit, some subscribers hope that Sony has something special ready for the anniversary. This is not confirmed, but it would be possible, for example:
- a sale in the PS Store with discounts for PS Plus users
- Discounts on a PS Plus membership
The PS Plus birthday could of course also have a direct impact on the lineup: Members can regularly look forward to two PS4 games every month, but maybe more in July. Perhaps Sony will also use the anniversary to offer one or the other blockbusters for subscribers at no additional cost. Many currently wish Horizon Zero Dawn as PS Plus Title.
Some other users in the subreddit, of course, remain skeptical and believe that nothing special awaits us. “Maybe they’ll just raise the prices for the service again,” jokes User Blackscure .
Speculation about the unveiling date of the PS Plus games in July
Some Reddit users like “Sijaz321” also believe that the PS Plus games of the July squad may exceptionally be revealed due to the birthday on Monday June 29th and not on a Wednesday as in the many months before.
The free games would normally have to be announced on Wednesday July 1st because they will be in the PS Store on Tuesday July 7th.
However, Sony already deviated from this pattern in the June contingent and already gave the first game (CoD: WW2) a few days before the regular unveiling known.
