Recently, Paint.net, an image processing software known as the “mini version” of PS, released the first Alpha 5.0 version, optimizing the functions and introducing some restrictions on the software operating environment.

Paint.net 5.0 has restrictions on the system version of the running program. Now the P software can only run smoothly on the 64-bit version of Win10 or Win11, which means all system versions lower than Win10, even the version 32-bit version of Win10, it will not be able to run the new version of the software.

Officials said users whose devices are still running these systems can use Paint.net 4.X as an alternative.

With the improvement of the system version requirements, Paint.net 5.0 also added a number of performance and function improvements. Now it has an effect plug-in system that supports GPU rendering and can adjust the pressure sensitivity of the pressure sensitive pen.

Also, in the new version, including the history and levels windows, rulers, image lists, and the user interface for adjusting curves and levels all use GPU acceleration. In addition to improved performance, the rendering quality and color accuracy of the software have been significantly improved.
