PS CONGRESS: Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol is preferred by socialist activists in Côte-d’Or

If Olivier Faure was reappointed first secretary of the Socialist Party, the activists of the Côte-d’Oriens voted, this Thursday, January 19, in a large proportion for his challenger Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol. An even more marked choice in Dijon.

As part of the process of the national congress of the Socialist Party, members were called upon to appoint their first secretary by a vote in each section, this Thursday, January 19, 2023.

At the national level, Olivier Faure, outgoing first secretary and craftsman of the electoral agreement of the New People’s Ecological and Social Union, was renewed with 50.83% of the vote against his challenger Nicolas-Mayer Rossignol.

Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol in the lead in Côte-d’Or

In Côte-d’Or, following on from the vote on the orientation texts of January 12 (read our article), activists demonstrated their preference for Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol who criticizes the NUPES agreement.

The day after the vote, Federal First Secretary Michel Neugnot announced the local results.

The PS federation in Côte-d’Or has 294 registered members. There were 212 voters and 205 votes cast (i.e. 72.11% participation): 72 for Olivier Faure (35.12%) and 133 for Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol (64.88%).

An even more marked preference for the Dijon section which has 154 registrants. There were 102 voters and 97 votes cast (i.e. 66.23% participation): 11 for Olivier Faure (11.34%) and 86 for Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol (88.66%).

We can therefore see that the participation was slightly up on the vote on the orientation texts of the previous week, that the votes for Olivier Faure remained stable and that Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol benefited from a very good report of the votes of the supporters of Hélène Geoffroy.

Vote for the first federal on February 23

The next local step will take place after the Marseille congress with a campaign next February and then a vote on February 23 to appoint the first secretary of the Côte-d’Or federation.

Michel Neugnot is a candidate for his succession (read our article). Thierry Falconnet announced, this Thursday, January 19, that he was aiming for the head of the federation (read our article) when Océane Charret-Godard conditioned her own candidacy on the score of Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol (read our article).
