Boxing, football, laser shooting, climbing… So many pretexts to “exchange and promote proximity”, reveals Jean-Marc Vaccaro, delegate for cohesion between the police and the population at the Thionville police station. The theme this year was “The law protects us”. The opportunity for young visitors, “whether at the end of primary school or college, to have a self-critical look at what they sometimes do wrong”, continues Jean-Marc Vaccaro. Also present on site, representatives of the Keolis bus network made young people aware of the safety rules to be observed on board and around coaches, thanks in particular to the dissemination of videos of spectacular accidents in the United States and China.
“Breaking down preconceived ideas”
“What matters to all the partners is to favor contact rather than highlighting the sanctions that teenagers could face”, slips the delegate of the police station. Who believes in this event which “also makes it possible to demonstrate that the prevention and repression services are decompartmentalized”. Because through these interactive workshops, the ambition is to break down preconceived ideas about professions and people.
