Provoked by Propaganda Rejecting Emergency PPKM, Masses Damage Police Posts in Pasuruan City

Monitoring Bromo News, hundreds of youths gathered at a number of points in Pasuruan City. Among them, on Jalan Slagah, Jalan Pahlawan around the City Park, Jalan Wahidin Sudirohusodo.

Those who gathered at Jalan Slagah had time to walk towards the Untung Suropati Stadium in Pasuruan City while carrying posters and coffins.

Shortly after, the police arrived. The situation was heated, to the point of throwing stones at the police. Police also threw tear gas.

One police post at the intersection of three Jalan Slagah was damaged. The youths then fled partly to Kandangsapi Village, while others fled to Petamanan Village.

They fled and entered the small alleys in Petamanan Village. The police also went into the small alleys to chase them.

The Pasuruan City Police Chief, AKBP Arman said, these youths were provoked by action posters inviting residents to reject the Emergency PPKM which had previously spread.

“When we asked, the purpose was not clear. Some say they want to hang out, they want to drink coffee,” said Arman.

As is known, a poster calling for action against the Emergency PPKM in Pasuruan City has been circulating through the WhatsApp application, and some others via Facebook since a few days ago.

There are two poster formats circulating with the same appeal, namely, inviting the public to take action at the Pasuruan Mayor’s Office to reject Emergency PPKM because it is considered to be oppressing the poor.

“But the point is because of the pamphlet that circulated a few days ago and was irresponsible. There is no collapsing. There’s no driving force. But it only makes noise on social media and in the end many are affected,” Arman added. (tof/asd)
