Provisional MotoGP 2020 Standings After GP Styria: Okezone Sports

SPIELBERG MotoGP Styria 2020 which took place at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, Sunday (23/8/2020) evening WIB, was running tight from start to finish. Drama takes place at the final turn before the finish line with KTM Red Bull Tech3 racer Miguel Oliveira as the lead actor.

Oliveira won by overtaking two riders at once, namely Jack Miller (Pramac Ducati) and Pol Espargaro (KTM Red Bull) at the last corner. The victory boosts Oliveira’s position in the standings.

The Portuguese passport racer before the race was in 14th place with a collection of 18 points. Oliveira has now collected 43 points for ninth place. He is 27 points behind Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT) who is at the top of the standings.

Quartararo has the right to occupy the top of the standings even though he failed to achieve good results at the 2020 Styria MotoGP. Quartararo finished 13th at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, so he only won three points.

An additional three points saved Quartararo’s first position from being chased by Andrea Dovizioso (Mission Winnow Ducati). Because, Dovizioso was able to match Quartararo’s previous points after sealing fifth position in the MotoGP Styria 2020.

Dovizioso is now only three points behind El Diablo – the nickname Quartararo. The difference in points is so thin that the competition for the 2020 MotoGP title is even more exciting.

Meanwhile, Miller, who finished second in the 2020 Styria MotoGP, was able to improve his position in the standings. Miller, who was previously in seventh position, climbed four ladders so that he is now in third place with a collection of 56 points.

Completing the top five positions in the standings are Brad Binder (KTM Red Bull) and Maverick Vinales (Monster Energy Yamaha). Binder finished fourth with a collection of 49 points after sealing eighth place at the Red Bull Ring Circuit.

Vinales, who failed to finish due to an accident midway through the race, was fifth. Top Gun – nicknamed Vinales – is only one point behind the Binder above him.
