Provincial meetings: work punctuated by several recommendations – AGP

Koula-Moutou, April 02, 2023 (AGP) – The work of the provincial meetings, on the fight against the high cost of living, organized on March 30 and 31, ended with several recommendations, at the Koula-Moutou town hall , provincial capital of Ogooué-Lolo.

President of the activities of this meeting, alongside his colleague delegate to the Minister of Digital Economy, Huguette Abodo Yombiyeni, the Minister of Mines and Geology, Elvis Ossindji, welcomed the work of the participants and hoped that the recommendations , resulting from this provincial consultation, are integrated with those of the other localities of the country, so that it serves as a compass for the government.

It must be said that several recommendations were issued during the committee work. On the issue of housing, the moderator of the said level, Axelle Nzonghan Bouyindi, pointed out that the government should revise downwards the high cost of building materials and the acquisition of plots, as well as the difficulty of access to property title.

In the field of transport, it was recommended the reopening of the Mabimbi airport of Koula-Moutou and the creation of an air transport company, the rehabilitation of secondary roads, the limitation of road checks and the eradication of the phenomenon of racketeering by the security forces.

Concerning the commission on parafiscality and taxation, whose moderator was Armel Moussavou Moussavou, head of service of the provincial directorate of Prices and Competition, the State should review the multiplicity of taxes and road checks, carriers and traders, the double taxation of the tax, competition and AGASA services…

With regard to the health and education component, the panelists proposed that certain serious or chronic pathologies be taken care of by the CNAMGS, the complete equipment (material and human) of hospital and pharmaceutical structures, this would reduce medical evacuations to Libreville and Franceville which are excessively expensive.

It should be noted that at the opening of the works, the local authorities and the members of the government had invited the populations of Ogooué-Lolo to take an active part during this provincial reflection. According to the recommendations made by the participants, awareness has gone well and the objective has been achieved.

The governor of Ogooué-Lolo, Jean Bosco Assigabagni, meanwhile, wanted the decision-makers to take into account the concerns of the Logovéans. The appointment was made for April 8, 9 and 10, during the second phase of the said meetings in Libreville.
