At the Baleg meeting, it was discussed whether the age rules for regional head candidates followed the decision of the Supreme Court or the Constitutional Court (MK). The decision of the Supreme Court is that the minimum age for gubernatorial candidates is 30 years and 25 years of age for gubernatorial candidates, cawalkot-cawawalkot candidates, starting from the establishment of the selected candidate pairs.

Awiek said that most groups in Baleg, the government and the DPD agreed with the High Court’s decision. This was protested by F-PDIP member Baleg, Putra Nababan.

“What does this leadership agree to?” Putra asked.

“The choice between the High Court and the Supreme Court, there are two court decisions. We have given the PDIP group the opportunity to speak, the other groups have the opportunity to speak, they have the same rights,” Awiek replied .

Putra Nababan questioned whether this agreement was requested from each group. Awiek confirmed that most of the groups agreed to follow the decision of the High Court.

“Okay, then what will be decided?” said Putra.

“Referring to the decision of the Supreme Court, the majority,” Awiek replied.

“Was it measured by a leadership group? Who disagrees?” asked Awiek.

“It’s been visible for a long time,” he said.

However, Putra felt that not all groups were asked and gave up their stance. Awiek confirmed that all groups, including PDIP, have been given an opportunity.

“Just now, if I’m not mistaken, only two spoke,” Putra said.

“Please continue. There is no need to talk about managing other groups, the important thing is that PDIP has expressed its opinion. Other groups have expressed their agreement, that is a matter for other groups,” said Awiek.
