Provincial Blood Bank Calls for Community Donations and Bone Marrow Donor Registration

All in all, the Provincial Blood Bank invites the community to come and donate within the framework of the external collections it carries out with the support of different entities. In addition, the ECODAIC calls for registration of bone marrow donors.

Voluntary and habitual donation is the best way to have safe blood to respond to different treatments and health care, such as surgeries, births and serious traumas.

In October, collections will be made in Monte Maíz, Capilla del Monte, La Calera, Alta Gracia and in different parts of the Capital.

• Friday 6: Córdoba, at the Maternal Neonatal Hospital, M. Cardeñosa 2900, from 8 a.m.
• Saturday 7: Mount Corn, at the José Minella Hospital – San Juan 1709 esq. Jujuy, from 9.
• Mars 10: Córdoba, in Tribunales II, Fructuoso Rivera 720, from 8 a.m.
• Wednesday 11: Cordoba, at the AVEIT Headquarters, Master M. Lopez and Red Cross, from 8 p.m.
• Mars 17: Capilla del Monte, at the Rotary Capilla del Monte, Deán Funes 526, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• Friday the 20th: Córdoba, at the Maternal Neonatal Hospital, M. Cardeñosa 2900, from 8 a.m.
• Saturday 21: Córdoba, at South Stake Mormon Church, Av. Vélez Sarsfield n°3741, B° Las Flores, from 8:00.
• Mars 24: Córdoba, at the Children’s Hospital, Descend Pucará 787, from 8.
• Thursday 26th: La Calera, at the Dr. Illia Maternal and Child Hospital, Bolivia S/N, from 8 a.m.
• Friday the 27th: Córdoba, at the Maternal Neonatal Hospital – M. Cardeñosa 2900 from 8 a.m.
• Saturday 28: Alta Gracia at the Adventist School, M. Alfonso 390, from 8.

In addition, on Tuesday the 24th, registration for the Bone Marrow Donor Registry will open during the collection that will take place at the Children’s Hospital. from the city of Córdoba. It should be noted that it is also possible to sign up for the 12 Collection Centers from the province.

On this occasion, the schedule also includes two days of plasma donation from patients recovered from Argentine Hemorrhagic Fever, on the days:

• Friday 6: in Bell Ville, at the José A. Ceballos Regional Hospital, Gerónimo del Barco 1289, from 9:00.
• Monday 9: in Marcos Juárez, at the Abel Ayerza Hospital – Av. Belgrano 350, from 9:00.

Where to donate throughout the year

In addition to the monthly collection schedule, it is remembered that you can donate blood voluntarily throughout the year in the different banks or hemotherapy services in the city of Córdoba.

In the capital, you can go to the Blood Bank, located in the former San Roque Hospital, Rosario de Santa Fe 374. To donate at this center, you must request an appointment by WhatsApp at 351-2480189, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Inside, you can attend the regional hospitals in the towns of Bell Ville, Villa María, Laboulaye, Jesús María, Villa Dolores, Mina Clavero, Río Cuarto, San Francisco, Cruz del Eje, La Carlota, Villa del Rosario, Marcos Juárez, Santa Rosa de Río Primero, Santa Rosa de Calamuchita, Río Tercero, Alta Gracia, Deán Funes, Corral de Bustos, Unquillo, Huinca Renancó and Villa Caeiro.

Requirements to donate blood

It should be noted that before going to the extraction you should have a light breakfast with sugary infusions, but do not consume dairy or fats. The requirements for those who donate blood are:

• Be between 18 and 65 years old
• Weigh more than 50 kg
• Feel healthy
• Attend with DNI, identity card or passport
• Prior rest of at least six hours
• After the Covid-19 vaccine, you must wait 72 hours to donate. After getting the flu vaccine, wait 24 hours.
• If you have had coronavirus, you should wait 10 days after discharge.
