Providers and researchers about the future of networks: ‘It will not work itself out’ – IT Pro – News

The Netherlands must now invest in the future of communication networks, because there is a chance that other countries will overtake the Netherlands. The government should help with that. This is the opinion of a group of KPN, T-Mobile, VodafoneZiggo, TNO and three universities, among others.

That is what the parties write in de Future Network Services-position paper which was handed over to Jeannine Peek of Topsector ICT on Thursday. According to the parties, more national cooperation is needed from Dutch sectors for the development of a new generation of communication networks. The Dutch government has an important role in this. According to the parties, the Dutch network infrastructure is at risk if its development is left entirely to the market, as is currently the case. Investing in the future of these networks cannot take years, they say.
