Samsung has new robots during tech fair CES presented. Bot Handy is a robot that helps with the household and can, for example, load the dishwasher.
Bot Handy is a riding robot with an arm and a hand. With the camera on top and the use of artificial intelligence, the robot can recognize objects. A video shows how the appliance then picks up dirty laundry from the floor, puts in the dishwasher, sets a table and delivers a drink.
According to Samsung, Bot Handy is an “extension of the kitchen, the living room and any other place in the house where you could use an extra hand”. At the front, two eyes are shown on a screen that express emotions. It can also extend in height for better access to higher-lying objects.
Samsung is currently “in development” of the robot. It is therefore not known if and when the device will be on the market.
Robot ‘whines’ if you spend too long behind a PC
Samsung also showed a new version of its Bot Care, a “robot assistant”. For example, the robot can let its owner know that it has been at the computer for far too long and has to get up for a while.
Bot Care can also let you know that an appointment is scheduled. A video call can then be started via a camera and the screen on the robot. Also in the case of Bot Care, it is unknown how far Samsung is in the development of the device.
