At least one dead and two injured in Indianapolis

According to CNN, at least 25 cities in 16 states have imposed curfews. But that didn’t stop people from venting their anger on the streets. Despite the curfew, people took to the streets for the fifth consecutive night. They protested the brutality, discrimination and injustice against black people.

In Indianapolis, Indiana, at least one person was shot dead in the vicinity of demonstrations, NBC News reported, citing police. There were at least two injured, according to Vice Police Chief Josh Barker. What exactly happened was initially unclear. The police wrote on Twitter that their officers were not involved.

Journalists were also attacked

In Minneapolis, two Reuters news agency employees were injured by rubber bullets. The footage by the Reuters cameraman shows a police officer aiming directly at him. The two employees were clearly identifiable as representatives of the press. The event is the last attack so far on journalists covering the protests in the United States. Also in Minneapolis on Friday, a black CNN journalist was arrested on camera while covering the rallies in the city.

Floyd died Monday night after a brutal police operation in Minneapolis. One of four officers involved sat the 46-year-old with his knee behind his neck for minutes. He ignored the African American’s requests to let him breathe. Charges have since been brought against him. There were calls for the three other police officers to be held accountable.
