Asmiya’s mysterious death in religious school, post-mortem report out, relatives say defamation attempt
At the same time, the police said that the investigation into the death of 17-year-old Asmiya under mysterious circumstances has been intensified. A 13-member team under the supervision of ASP Neyyattinkara has been appointed for the investigation. The police will take statements from the girl’s mother and classmates. The preliminary post-mortem report says that Asmiya’s death was suicide. But Asmiya’s relatives are adamant that they don’t think it was suicide and that there should be a strong investigation. The relatives are also complaining that an attempt is being made to defame Asmiya.
Asmiya was found hanging dead in the library room of Al Aman Educational Complex in Balaramapuram on Saturday. Asmiya called home on Saturday afternoon and asked Umm to pick her up. Asmiya told Umma that Usdat and the teacher are isolating each other and fighting. Umma Rehmat Bivi immediately came to Balaramapuram after hearing the topic of her daughter’s speech. But the relatives say that the institutional authorities made them wait saying that Asmiya was in the bathroom. Asmiya was found hanging near the library when he forced his way inside. Relatives say that no one bothered to take him to the hospital or arrange for it. Relatives say that an attempt is being made to make Asmiya commit suicide out of frustration over the breakup of her relationship. The relatives want justice.
