Protests and Occupations at Planned Refugee Accommodation in Dresden-Alttorna

Several people occupied the planned refugee accommodation in Dresden-Alttorna on Saturday afternoon. They climbed onto the roof and unrolled a poster. The poster says “No room for foreign infiltration”.

Two people could be seen in pictures that evening. At first there were said to be more, but the rest apparently fled.

The police were on a large scale. She classified the suspects on the right-wing spectrum. The home is scheduled to go into operation on Monday.

Around 40 “Free Saxony” demonstrators gathered in front of the building to express their solidarity with the roof occupiers. According to information from our reporter, the right-wing extremist Max Schreiber registered the spontaneous demo. Negotiations with the occupiers had failed and they refused to leave the roof.

The police requested the SEK. At around 9:50 p.m., special forces from the State Criminal Police Office finally got the two men off the roof. These remained unharmed.

Police officers found various paraphernalia on the roof that indicated that the men had prepared to stay there for a longer period of time. The state security agency is investigating the two 21- and 25-year-old Germans for trespassing.
