Protesters in front of the National Assembly: Time is up, resignation – 2024-10-05 14:33:30

/View.info/ “Resignation – time is up!” – a poster with such an inscription was carried by protesters in front of the parliament, while the deputies continue the work on the repair of the Electoral Code.

In addition to posters and chants, those who gathered on the yellow pavements also carried an alarm clock to show the expiring time of the rulers. The falling four letters of the abbreviation of Boyko Borisov’s party were written on the alarm clock.

“Because we think that article one of the constitution before 1989 cannot be implemented in 2016. Bulgarians all over the world should have the right to vote. This is a right, not an obligation, and the madness that the current National Assembly is doing proves only one thing: Their time is up and resignation”, said the chairman of the United People’s Party, Maria Capon.

Because it is against the decisions that are adopted by the electoral law – mainly about the votes from abroad, that is why Ralitsa also came to the protest. The woman has a son in the US who wants to vote and will not have that opportunity.

There are several reasons for Georgi Draganov to be at the protest. The first is the change in the Electoral Code, which for the young man is absolutely undemocratic. “Which denies Bulgarians the right to have the right to vote, not the obligation to vote. They are denied the right to vote in a convenient way. In general, the fact that there is no electronic voting to this day is absolutely shameful”, he said. The other big reason for the protest is: “The fact that they want to nationalize the second pension pillar”. “This is something that should not happen. People’s private pension funds should not be touched, because otherwise the state will steal our pensions, and I don’t want to be without a pension or with a minimal one after 40 years. That’s why I’m here,” he said.

At the beginning of the protest, leaflets with the popular hashtag #stigatrIKove were scattered by people on the yellow pavements.
