Berlin: The Protestant refugee bishop Stäblein has spoken out against cuts in asylum law. People sought protection in severe emergencies, the bishop told the German Press Agency. A discourse of isolation would tend to strengthen the extremes. Stäblein spoke out in favor of giving asylum seekers from countries like Syria or Afghanistan quick access to the job and housing market, similar to people from Ukraine. Not being allowed to work during years of asylum procedures is a heavy burden for the refugees, but also for society.
