Late on Tuesday evening, a demonstration took place outside the Israeli embassy in Oslo.
At most there were 100 protesters. The demonstration ended shortly after 01:00. It will pick up again on Wednesday morning, writes NTB.
– A certain number of people have gathered to protest against the Israeli embassy. We have been there on the spot since the first participants started to appear, and have built up a slightly larger police force there, operations manager Bjørn Gunnar Nysæter told NRK around midnight while the demonstration was underway.
Believes Israel was behind hospital attack
Demonstrators at the site shouted, among other things, “Let Gaza live”, “Israel is a terrorist” and “Allahu Akbar”.
The demonstration should have started around 11pm, according to Nysæter.
Demonstrators NRK spoke to say that they were demonstrating in light of the attack on the hospital in Gaza on Tuesday evening, where hundreds were killed. They believe that Israel was behind the attack. Several are also critical of the media’s coverage of the war.

Some appeared aggressive
– There is a lot of loud shouting and some participants appear somewhat aggressive. But there has been nothing that has led to any confrontation between the police and the demonstrators. We continue to work to secure the embassy and its property, said Nysæter.
He said police are continuing to secure the embassy and its property.
– As well as that we work to keep track and ensure that the demonstration does not escalate into a major disturbance, said Nysæter.
The demonstration was not registered in advance.
– We encourage the participants to behave and not resort to violence, damage or anything else that is illegal, said Nysæter.
