Protest motorcyclists against closing dike roads | Inland

This year, several roads have already been declared a prohibited area for motorcycles because local residents, cyclists and walkers say they are bothered by the noise and dangerous driving behavior. The motorcyclists believe that they are disadvantaged by motorists who are allowed to drive on the dikes.

During this ‘Tour for free roads’, the participants moved in groups on Sunday, so as not to inconvenience other road users. On the way they saw the necessary thumbs up and people on the highway waved to us, says Igor Alveringh, organizer of this ‘Tour ride for free roads’. He thinks the day has gone “super”. The ride went to The Hague to send a signal to politicians. A petition on the matter will be presented in November, Alveringh reports.

The protest ride was scheduled to be held in early August, but was postponed due to extreme heat. On the day of the planned motorized demonstration, the mercury rose to 35 degrees.
