Protest! Cyclists stopped on the Tour due to dangerous tracks

The cyclists started today’s fourth stage of the Tour de France with a protest against the organizers, who, according to them, do not take sufficient account of the safety of the riders when planning the route of the race. After starting from Redon, the peloton set off at a slow pace and after less than a kilometer at the direction of the German sprinter André Greipel, he stopped. The cyclists stood for about a minute before getting back on their bikes and setting off on the 150.5 km long track to Fougéres.

After the experience from the first three stages, which was marked by a number of ugly falls, the riders are not satisfied, above all, with the safety of the runs and the guidance of the route on narrow roads. Especially at the beginning of the Tour, when there is a lot of nervousness among the riders in the peloton, there were collisions with serious consequences.

The favorites for the overall championship, Geraint Thomas and Primož Roglič, also ended up on the ground with them, but they continue with the scars. For the elite sprinter Caleb Ewan, who broke his collarbone four times when he fell in the finish on Monday, the 108th year is over and he has to have surgery.

One of Roglič’s key domesticates, Robert Gesink, also has a collarbone fracture from another carom. Australian Jack Haig also suffered the same injury and a concussion on Monday. A total of seven riders withdrew from the race.

“I feel like we’ve been driving for two weeks – mentally and physically. Almost all of us already have some abrasions,” said German cyclist Tomy Martin, according to whom his team leader Roglic reminds the mummy of the number of patches and bandages.
