Several groups gathered this afternoon at Malieveld in The Hague to protest against the corona measures. Thierry Baudet of Forum for Democracy, among others, addressed the demonstrators.
A protest march that runs along the Hofvijver has now started. The roads to the Binnenhof are closed. The march ends around 4 p.m. again on the Malieveld. Because of the demonstration, the regional public transport company HTM has decided to detour several tram and bus lines. Car traffic will also be diverted there.
The police in The Hague say they do not want to make an estimate for the time being of the number of demonstrators who have come to the protest. Organizer Samen Voor Nederland (SVN) said in a press release to expect many people beforehand. About 20,000 demonstrators came to an earlier demonstration by SVN in Amsterdam, according to estimates by the police and municipality in Amsterdam.
