The 2020 Protection Bonus is a monetary contribution made by the State for a period of 24 months to the participants of the program Chile Securities and Opportunities dependent on Ministry of Social Development.
It is a non-applicable benefit and freely available to facilitate participation in the Chile Seguridades y Oportunidades programs.
Its monthly amount to be paid per household or beneficiary person, is differentiated in time, and will depend on the period of execution of the psychosocial support (PHC), according to the following sections (values for the year 2020):
- The first 6 months the bonus amounts to $17.970.
- From month 7 to month 12, the bonus is $13.676.
- From month 13 to month 18 the bonus is $9.402.
- From month 19 to 24 the bonus is $13.155 (value corresponds to SUF amount).
What are the requirements to access this benefit?
The only requirement to access is to have accepted the invitation to participate in one of the programs of Chile Securities and Opportunities (Families, Abriendo Caminos, Calle o Vínculos) through the signing of the Letter of Commitment and the Intervention Plan.
These actions, once carried out, directly trigger the management and subsequent payment of the protection bonus, which begins on a date close to the first psychosocial support sessions (APS).
How do I check with my Rut if I have the Protection Bonus?
On the site of IPS online You can access information regarding all the bonuses and benefits that the State has, including the Protection Bonus. You just have to enter with your Rut and verify if you appear as a beneficiary.
Where can I collect this Bonus?
The family or person participating in SSyOO who chooses the modality in which they will receive and collect the Protection Bonus 2020, which can be:

- Electronic deposit in bank account of the family collector, or in RUT Account that opens the Ministry of Social Development, at no cost to the user. For the bank payment method, a subsidy equivalent to 700 pesos per month is applied that allows the user to make two monthly transfers and issue a bank card.
- Payment in person at the Los Héroes Compensation Fund and at BancoEstado branches corresponding to the user’s address, where they must go, with their identity card, the user or the family representative who collects the rest of the family benefits.
