Ramallah – the world of the homeland
Muhammad Abu Haniyeh, a technology expert, said that the phenomenon of the flow of applications and electronic links has led to an increase in cases of smartphone hacking as a result of the presence of some unsafe applications and links, which makes users vulnerable to hacking and theft of personal data.
Abu Haniyeh gave a number of important tips that must be taken into account to protect your smartphone from hacking, which came as follows:
1. Update the system: The operating system on your smartphone should be updated regularly, as security updates are released to fix security vulnerabilities that devices can be exposed to.
2. Use a strong password: You should set a strong password for your smartphone, and avoid using date of birth or easy-to-memorize numbers. It is also preferable to enable the face or fingerprint recognition option, if this is an available option.
3. Do not click on suspicious links: You should avoid clicking on suspicious links that you receive via email, text messages, or unknown applications, as they may contain malicious programs.
4. Enable Additional Protection: You can enable additional protection on your smartphone such as “Find My iPhone” for Apple devices or “Find My Device” for Android devices to keep your phone safe.
5. Install Antivirus Software: Reliable antivirus software should be installed on your smartphone, as it can detect and remove malware and viruses before they cause harm to your device.
6. Don’t connect to public Wi-Fi: You should avoid connecting to unencrypted public Wi-Fi networks, as hackers can get close to your smartphone and capture your private data.
7. Delete Unused Apps: You should delete apps that you don’t use regularly, as they may contain malware or collect your personal information.
8. Do not enable root access: You should avoid enabling root or admin access to your smartphone, as it can make the device vulnerable to malware.
Abu Haniyeh stressed the importance of observing these tips to protect your smartphone from hacking and to maintain your security and privacy.
