Protecting the night’s sleep: Police blocked roads on Lake Phoenix

Even if there were significantly fewer cars on the Wall in Dortmund city center and on the Phoenoex Lake: During controls in the evening hours and on Saturday and Sunday nights (10/11/07/2021), the police seized a total of seven vehicles after illegal tuning the operating licenses were no longer valid. For the occupants, this meant the end of their journey – the police had the cars towed away.

In order to protect the night’s sleep of the residents of the Phoenix See, the police blocked Hermannstrasse, Phoenixseestrasse and Hans-Tombrock-Strasse in Hörde on Friday evening from 10.30 p.m. Loud engines and exhaust systems of inconsiderate drivers of high-powered cars repeatedly caused annoyance and complaints.

On both nights, the police checked more than 200 cars and more than 100 people. In around 30 cases, dismissals were issued. In addition, the police punished more than 50 violations of the road traffic regulations.

Apparently, the construction sites on Dortmund’s Wallring are currently ensuring a certain level of traffic calming at night. The police will continue their operations against illegal tuning and speeders.
