This is reiterated by a study that will be presented in a few days by a young Italian researcher, Giovanni Civieri, from the Cardiovascular Imaging Research Center of the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University in Boston at the American Heart Association congress, scheduled for Philadelphia (USA) from 11 to 13 November.

Research shows that anxiety and depression can accelerate the onset of traditional risk factors for heart attack and stroke. In particular, people with a greater sensitivity to stress written in their genes develop these risk factors at a much earlier age than the general population.
